Hunt #1- Got into the woods well before daylight and sure enough just as it started greying up i heard one fire off 500 yds in front of me. I started working my way closer and on this birds 3rd gobble some one shot him off the limb. i Had no clue anyone else was around as i had seen no other trucks in that area. Needless to say it scared the crap out of me. It was way before flydown time and so dark, he wouldn't have been able to see a bird on the ground. I came back out to the truck and circled around the entire block of woods and finally found an old logging road with fresh tire marks. Had to be were he had gone in at. Not mad about him being there, he had every right to be, but really ticked that he would limb shoot that bird.
Hunt #2- Went to another area and parked at the head of a road CLOSED TO VEHICLES. Walked my old, fat, out of shape arse a looonnngggg way (for me) down that road calling as i went. Finally got one to answer me and started working him. Had him coming on a string right down the road i had just walked in on..... About that time i hear something coming from farther on down the road, the road that is CLOSED TO VEHICLES. This guy comes flying back out that road in a jeep, I mean like his tail was on fire. Needless to say that turkey is lucky if he didn't get run over. He actually had to go out in the woods to get around my truck. Anyway it ruined that hunt. SO i will regroup and go after them again some time next week.

I hope your luck improves. I have had some bad public experiences as well. Just makes the success that much sweeter
