With the NC season coming in next weekend I was just wondering if there is anything else I should have in my vest just in case. As of right now I carry a extra striker, sandpaper, all my calls, extra shells, decoys and last but not least some toilet paper. Is there anything else that y'all could recommend that might be helpful to have on hand?
Don't have a vest but you reminded me of something when you said sandpaper. I don't normally carry a pot call, but I threw my crystal call in my pocket yesterday and used the wingbone as a striker. Just to have an extra option. Well the surface got smooth and didn't sound right, so I picked up a small rock lying next to me and got the call sounding perfect. Sorry not trying to hijack, just a tip if you ever find yourself needing sandpaper. Good luck next weekend

Gloves,and an extra pair,mask and an extra one, 2 pot calls,3 strikers,3-4 mouth calls,a box call,sandpaper(in a baccy can),Thermacell(with an extra pad or two),roll of TP in a gallon ziplock bag,plastic shopping bag(for shrooms), 8 shells, Buckwing umbrella,a water bottle.
Over the years I have learned that on a given day, a certain combination of call or striker may be what does the trick to bag a gobbler. So here is my list: Mask, gloves, TP, 4 mouth calls, 5 - 6 pots, 8-10 strikers, box call, gobbler shaker, wing, flashlight, big spray, 8 shells, sandpaper, scotch brute pad, chalk, hen decoy, owl hooter, crow call. I swap out the calls ever so often, but it's good to have a variety when dealing with turkeys that are pressured or old.
On box call, couple pots, 3-5 strikers, scotchbrite, sand paper, two pair of gloves, two headnets, baby wipes, Thermocell, crow call, owl hooter, wingbone, and 3-4 mouth calls.
Calls -- One box, two pot calls, 2 strikers, 3 to 6 mouth calls. I rarely use the pot calls but carry them anyway. Owl and crow call.
Other stuff -- ammo, tags, ink pen, knife, map, GPS on occasion, compass, camera (been using phone) water bottle(s), snacks, maybe a sandwich if I know I'm likely going on a marathon.
I carry binos on a bino strap.

2 pots, 3 strikers, sandpaper, scotch pad, box, 4-5 mouth calls, pocket knife, pruning shears (use them a lot to put a little brush in front of me or clear a lane, quietly), Thermacell, bug spray, flashlight (that I never use), compass, GPS if hunting large or new places, crow call, gobble call, TP goes in my pocket, water bottle, warm and mesh gloves, face mask, flagging tape (only used it once to mark my way back out of a thick swamp - had no GPS in those days), a couple spare shells, binocs.
Pruning shears have helped me set up many times - prune limbs in my way, for the shot or on the tree I am leaning on. Also make a quick ground blind - palmettos are plentiful and can make a quick blind in a minute or two. It is a rare hunt I don't pull them out. Also work well to silently cut that briar that is in your way, stretched across your chest or legs, when trying to slip down in to a thick creek bottom.
5 pot calls, 6-8 strikers, box call, water bottle, few mouth calls, 2 locators, gobble tube, 2 decoys, shells, TP, extra gloves and an extra mask. That's the majority of it I believe.
