Title: Case for SBEII with Steady Grip
Post by: zeus26 on April 03, 2016, 09:01:50 AM
Looking for suggestions on a soft-sided gun case that will fit my 26" SBEII with the steady grip installed (no optics). The odd silhouette of the gun makes me think it might not fit in all cases.

I have a Plano "field locker" style hard case that fits it, but hoping to find something that'll take up less space in the back seat of my truck.

Thanks OG Nation!

Good luck.  I have the same problem with my 24" M2.  I imagine there are some scoped rifle cases that might work but I haven't found one.  The problem is that with my IC choke, my barrel length is about 26" like yours and most rifle cases are too short.  I also have a FF sight on mine that makes it harder as well.  Currently, I'm just using a scoped rifle case and leaving the gun butt sticking out the end a little.  Works OK for traveling behind the seat but would probably want more protection if I was riding in a quad, boat or the gun was gonna be exposed to bouncing around.

Check Midway and look at some of the case for AR style rifles. If they have one long enough it should work great.

I just use a cheap black plastic foam lined single scoped rifle case for my m2. It only got a 21"barrel, but with the Indian Creek choke it's close to 24, and still fits easily. I have an aimpoint on it as well. It might be a Plano case, not sure, but it was only 25 bucks, and doesn't take up much room.

Just had the same problem when I put a steady grip stock and a FF3 on my 26" SBEII.  Picked this up from bass pro and it fits perfect.

That just might work.  I hate BPS but glad to see someone finally came out with a scoped shotgun case.
