This is a story about a soldier who was impaled with an RPG in Afghanistan. SOP in this situation is to NOT medivac the patient or operate. Some brave souls decided to do otherwise and saved this soldiers life.

Wow. I have worked in the surgical theater for over 20 years, and that was one of the most amazingly heroic things I have ever witnessed.
God Bless that team for what they did for that young man. Giving no thought to their own very imminent danger, they saved his life.
