Title: Choke suggestions
Post by: Gobspur on March 25, 2016, 06:23:34 PM
Have a REM 870 supermag.  21 inch barrel.  Have been shooting LB #6 out of truglo gobblerstopper .665, with good results.  But I'd like to try LB #5s to see how they do.  Any body shoot this combo, what choke/constriction do you recommend?  Thanks

Since you're having good results with that choke and the #6 shot, I'd recommend that you try the #5 shot with that same choke before you invest in another one. You may find that it does very well with those shells.

Thanks,
Clark

That's was my first thought, but wasn't sure if folks typically went with more open constriction with #5s.  I'll give it a go. Thanks Clark, much appreciated.

My 870 has a 23" barrel with a .665 Indian Creek.  I shot some lb 5's Saturday and it was super tight at 40. Almost too tight.
