Florida's spring turkey season was good to me on the second day. Was invited to hunt a buddies property that borders some large private holdings. No problem, all I gotta do is call one to my side of the fence. After two sits where the birds would strut, gobble and stay safely on their side of the fence, I needed a little luck. It came in the form of a breezy Sunday morning which brought my decoys to life. After placing sticks in the ground on either side of their tails, the wind caused them to dance enticingly. Long story short, after working a hen into a frenzy, the gobbler came in wings dragging, full blown strut as fast as his legs could go. After going beak to beak with my semi strut jake, he took 2ozs of #6's to the wattles and dropped absolutely stone dead.
