Well , yesterday was a tough one. Spent 4 hours working a bird and whiffed the shot. I was sick and disgusted. Didn't even post about it. Brushed myself off and went this morning. I was really early because my plan was to come in from a different direction. Almost 3 miles by gps. Crossed 2 creeks and traversed some tough hilly terrain. Sure enough 2 started gobbling about 150 yards from where I was yesterday. Worked them but they got quiet on the ground when hens showed up. I had heard one I figured about 600 yards north , so I moved that direction slowley. Set up and called a loud mouth hen to withen feet of me. Behind her two started gobbling but didn't follow her in. Sat tight and she eased off back towards them. They would gobble about every 10 minutes , so I sat tight to course the direction they were traveling. I moved around in a big loop and set up so they would be in range as soon as they popped up. Eventually fired the hen back up and she headed my way. She came roughly 5 yards from me. I could hear drumming behind her and the both crest the hill. I shot him at 15 yards with my 20ga. And 3" #9 tss loads. 10" beard , 1-1/8th spurs and 18lbs. Moral of story is turkey hunting is full of highs and lows.(http://i1361.photobucket.com/albums/r675/jodynichols1/Turkey/20160322_115841_zpsucte6xny.jpeg) (http://s1361.photobucket.com/user/jodynichols1/media/Turkey/20160322_115841_zpsucte6xny.jpeg.html)

Did you have that gun dipped or is it a wrap?
I like the way it looks.
I had it dipped. Guy did a real good job.
Congrats! Way to stick with it!
Nice well earned bird, congrats
Congrats , great bird !!
Congradulations. Fine bird and know you don't have to keep kicking yourself!
Very nice! Congratulations on a great bird and I definitely agree with you on the highs and lows.
Great job!!! Nice gobbler!!! Way to get back after em and redeem yourself. It sure is frustrating to miss, we've all been there. Definitely a smart move sitting tight and seeing where they were headed and looping around on them. As you know sometimes you just gotta get in their "comfort zone" and some soft yelps will bring em right in your lap!
Awesome. Congrats.

Congrats! It wouldn't be turkey hunting if something didn't mess up...nice bird!
Congrats on the bird, and nice dip job on your gun! A miss is bad enough but it really hurts when it comes after an extra long battle that you thought you had finally won. Good job getting back out there and getting it done.
Congrats buddy
Nice job! That's a beautiful bird. :icon_thumright:
Again, thanks everyone. Hopefully I will have pics of another one next week. 9 days of chasing them.

Missing a turkey is the damn lowest feeling in the outdoors.
Way to get after them!
Good luck with the rest of your season.
