Need some tips to convense wife that all turkey hunters wives let them play their call when setting in recliner after work.
I've tried purrs and really don't want to break out the Gobble box?
:anim_25:
Give her the credit card and allow her to enjoy so you can get some valuable turkey call training. Of course, put a cap on her allowable expenditures :gobble:
Good luck with that...
Better go ahead and put that recliner in the garage...
I play mine in my shop to avoid the comments..My shop is about 50 ft from the chicken coop where our pet gobbler is kept, and what a loyal ole bird he is, he cuts loose at every call I make !!! Gets me all exited hearing those gobbles before season starts. Way better than hearing the wife.. :TooFunny:
Or, better yet, make her your hunting partner!!! You may lose a call or two, but in the end it will be worth it!!
It's easier to just get rid of the wife , that's what I did. Now I can play calls whenever I feel like it.

. LOL....thats what I did years back...don't do no good...ready to get rid another..
I've found that I feel better calling in the woods, the sound to me is better. There's a 20 acre tract of land next to my house that I call my play ground. I fear the day that it gets developed! There's no turkeys on it, but there is deer sometimes.
Tell her your buddy is dating a buncha sorority chicks n you can go play there if she likes?

After 3 I can't afford another! #3 has a lot of Turkey land..better keep her :z-winnersmiley:
Unless it's after she goes to bed or before she wakes up mine don't say much.
We must be spoiled Sam, mine is OK with turkey calling in the house too. When I go too far and start asking her which one sounds better.............OGturkeyhead:

From what I hear, using this tactic, it can be years before you even get enough money to buy any new calls!!!
I practice mouth calls in the truck on the way to and from work. Pots, she doesn't complain much. Box call is off limits in the house. So I wait until she goes somewhere to run that inside. She doesn't complain much. Unless I use a box call in the house while she's home. Lol

My wifes been complaining about it since we started dating.
Guess I'm one of the lucky ones too. My wife doesn't say anything when I play calls in the house. However, I did learn this year not to ask which one sounds better. Made that mistake and she told me they all sounded equally bad. Then she laughed. She thought she was real funny. Had to go out in the backyard just to get the neighbor's pet turkey to gobble for me. Of course he gobbles at most anything. So she might be right.
I can't call I the house much. My girlfriend doesn't mind it, but the dog barks non stop and the cat's go nuts, which drives me nuts. Sounds better to me outside anyway.

I think there's something in that extra chromosome that reacts poorly to turkey calling indoors. Mine has a horse addiction that keeps her busy at the barn, so I just practice when she's gone. I practice with mouth calls when I'm driving.

I go into the bedroom and shut the door. I'm sure the sound carries through but she tolerates it. :icon_thumright:
My wife doesn't say much about it. That's one of the reasons I married her.
I prefer to run calls outside, prefer in the woods so I go behind the house. When I do play inside she does not say anything, but my wife is a special lady and I am a lucky husband.

My wife is fine with it. As a matter of fact she buys me more calls! Now when my 5 year old is running around with a box call sounding like a hen jacked up on red Bull is another story. I get "that look" then.
This is the exact reason I built the 18x20 "garage-mahal" out back of the house. Shop, man cave, deer cooler and beer drinking hangout for my addictions...;)
