Opening day 3/15/16 we saw 3 different gobblers strutting in the fields and hat one gobbling by himself at 10:00 but couldn't close the deal.
Wednesday 3/16/16 I had to work but my dad and brother made short work of the lonely gobbler that have us the slip the way before
Thursday 3/17/16 i have to work again but my dad kills one around midday in a field with some hens
Friday 3/18/16 I struggle at work to get through my last day of the week my dad and brother hear Turkey's but can't get in one.
Saturday 3/19/16 weather man is calling for rain so my brother and I set up on a field edge where we saw those opening day. I killed this one around 7:30 shortly after fly down
Sunday 3/20/16 my brother is back at work so my dad and I head out to wear he heard some gobble before I shot the previous day. At about 8:00 we see a gobbler in the field with some hens. We make a circle and crawl within about 100 yrs and the hens bring him right to us. I shot him at about 35 yds.
It was a great opening week for us. I'm ready for the rest of the season. The good Lord has really blessed us this week.
