I see some of you wrap your strikers, is that for easier grip? What do you use?
most of the strikers you see that are wrapped are from jimmy schaffer at oak ridge calls.he wraps all his strikers that he sends out with calls.those are the only ones i have that are wrapped and they feel and run nice,they work just like the ones that are not wrapped.i like them but i also like a regular one.the ones he sends with his calls have been matched to the pot and sound good so i usually use them on his but those are the only wrapped ones i have.i like them both ways.
I personally don't like the wraps on my strikers. As said above jimmy schaffer wraps his. I have a half dozen of them but never run them. They sound good , but I perfer a 1 piece striker. Some people really like them wrapped but I like to feel the wood and regulate the pressure on them.
