This is a Canebrake Rattlesnake from this mornings hunt.

Most of the ones around here ain't that light colored. Becareful.

Most of the copperheads here are a lot darker then that one, glad you seen him Dan, you did kill it, right.

Hey I misidentified that snake!!! I didn't mess with it because I was in hot pursuit at the time.   It's not a copperhead it's a canebrake rattlesnake.   First one I've seen.    It was relatively cool this morning so he was lethargic and didn't rattle plus I didn't hang around too long.

That's one think about hutning the deep south that I hate.  Even though I seldom see them any more, I still hate those dang things.  The old lease property that I used to hunt with Dan, was one of the snaky places on the earth.  That place was infested.

My Rocky snake boots were leaking like heck so I returned them yesterday and picked up a new pair of the new Redhead's.  I wore them today and I love em.   My feet actually stayed dry!!!!   With the hotter weather we're going to have after these storms blow through the mosquito's won't be the only critter's active in them swamps.
