I am having trouble transitioning from clucks to yelps. I listened to (watched) some YouTube videos and the hens seem like they transition without any pause. I have to pause between clucks and yelps. Any advice?
What type of call are you using?
Sorry, a diaphragm. Legacy Lone Hen, 2 reed batwing cut.
Keep practicing.... it will happen without thinking about it...
Practice every chance you get. I'm on a UPS truck all day long and I keep a call in my mouth. I've had a couple of birds answer my calls while I walk up to a house. Makes my mouth water.
Practice... It can take a while to get all the little nuances of mouth calls.
If you use the different words that you Huff method then practice even when you don't have a call in your mouth.

Yep. Clucks and yelps you shouldn't need to reposition the call. This may help you - yelp as you normally do then close your lips, but keep trying to yelp. Make yourself force the air thru your lips without dropping your jaw. Should make a terrible noise, but you will get the feel for manipulating the air pressure with your lips.
