Title: Couple new Wingbones
Post by: Gawhitaker on March 16, 2016, 09:54:41 PM
The top one now resides at the home of a wingbone collector in Oklahoma, he seems mighty tickled with it and says it's the easiest playing, sweetest sounding bone he has seen. The bottom one I built off the design of an old wingbone maker that lived in the area I grew up in, I never had the pleasure of meeting him but heard a lot of good things about his bones. a few years ago a co worker stopped by and told me he was the call makers son in law, had the old call makers personal wingbone and would be happy to show it to me. to make a long story short, he broke it, I fixed it and with his permission built one as close to it as dimensionally possible. I have no doubt, even though it looks a little odd, it will go from my lanyard to my sons.

Congrats on a awesome bird Greg. When you get back to work I need to hear a play by play on how you took him.

Appreciate it, he was not the dominant bird we were looking for, but the way their acting I was glad to get him, we are hunting hard and not hearing much where we are. Clayton said he's not eating right, sleep deprived and has worn the heels out of his boots, And we are having a blast. Gorgeous country for sure
