Title: 20 gauge youth gun question
Post by: tjh24 on March 16, 2016, 08:30:32 PM
I have a 20 gauge 870 youth model.  Is the only difference between the youth and a standard 20 ga. the size of the stock?

If so I was thinking of putting the shur shot stock on it and playing with it for a lightweight turkey gun.

Thanks

Thats what I did. I love it. Recoil is so minimal when I first fired the gun with 2 3/4" dove loads I was completely taken by surprise at the lack of recoil.  3" loads are nothing as well. I love it.

No, a standard 20 will have a 26" barrel.  The youth has a 21" barrel.  Stock sizes are different as you mentioned above as well.

The receivers are the same, so the stock will fit fine.
