Title: cost effective scope
Post by: nosaj on March 15, 2016, 10:02:39 PM
I want to put a couple red dots on youth escort Sa-20's.  Does any one have insight where cost and quality cross??  I know the obvious answer!

No idea how to really answer this other than, you're going to get what you pay for. I use a couple cheap Truglo red dots. They've held up quite well all things considered. One on a 12 and the other on a 20. Actually bought one used from a member here a while ago. He'd used it for several years. It's still holding up just fine.

Best red dot for you money is the Bushnell TRS 25, these will run you less than 80 dollars each..

I can understand your not knowing how to answer my rude question.  I was pulled away at the time and did not get back to see what I had written or more appropriately how it read.  What I was sayiing was that I understand that you get what you pay for (in my short hand "the obvious") however there is often a point where functional and quality cross.  I also understand that it is different for everyone and on a site like this there is often enough everyones where you get several answers and one, two or several may make sense to the poster.

I should have also mentioned that these would be for a youth and POI is a consideration.  Since this posting I also found the sights and optics section.  Duh!

Thanks for your imput and a great site!
