Post by: agent eight seven O on March 15, 2016, 04:49:11 PM
For those that have used a shurshot stock. Is felt recoil less than a regular stock?

I don't know if I could really tell a difference on recoil or not.  I did read somewhere (whether this is true or not) that the recoil transferred down the handle instead of all of it pushing backwards???

I believe it does. I let my 12 y/o son shoot my 3" 870 express with a standard wood stock and my 870 supermag SPS in 3 1/2 with a sure shot. He said the 3" standard stock kicked a lot harder.

Mine came with the newest recoil pad so that helps.

I don't know if I'd say it kicks less.  it just directs some of the energy into the arm through the hand.  Basically using the arm as a recoil spring.
