Title: Carlson Longbeard XR Chokes?
Post by: BDeal on March 15, 2016, 02:46:37 PM
Any thoughts on these for those that have used them? I tried one in my Super X2 with longbeards 3.5 #5 and #6's and it shoots too tight for my liking.

Thanks

It seems a lot of people have good results with that choke. What kind of numbers are you seeing? Maybe switch to a more open choke or use a different pay load and shot size.

I shoot it and I'm very happy with it. It is tight at 20 but I shoot an optic so I don't worry about it that much. I posted some pattern counts in the pattern section the other day under put some shells on paper. It will give you a general idea of what it will do with different shells.

I got one a few weeks ago, but have yet to try it.

I've got one for my SXP and yea, it's pretty tight at 20, but just like Dak28, I have an optic and don't worry about it too much. I'm really liking my pattern at 40 though.
