Title: sumtoy .650 shoots high POI???
Post by: sasquatch1 on March 14, 2016, 10:41:26 AM
I recently got a sumtoy .650 choke for my benelli vinci and after shooting heavy shot 6s and longbeard 5s I've noticed that they are both shooting high. All other chokes always shot dead on so im wondering if its something to do with the choke? The last choke I was using was an indian creek .665. Anyone ever experience this?

Try shooting those loads in a full choke and see if they still pattern high. It sometimes can be a choke and or shell problem. If they shoot POA / POI with your regular choke call William and let him know what's going on. My bet is he will send you another choke.

try shooting a 3 inch shell through it and see where it hits. I had the same problem out of a old 870 supermag. 3.5 would shoot high but 3 was dead on.

It's a 3" gun. That's what I was shooting.

most all of the new guns shoot high.  That guns I would think form the ones we see shoot about 2 inches high at 50 feet.    Now it could be the choke but hard to say.  I know faster shells shoot high.  smaller chokes will shoot high.

it may very well be from the .650 restriction also, like I said its always shot on par with the same shells out of other chokes but the tightest I've shot was an Indian creek .665 so maybe that is the difference. When I get a chance I am going to re shoot it with my factory full and Indian creek on paper again just to see the difference and will let you know what I get.
