Was wondering if anyone knows how long before i could use some cedar wood to make calls with , it has just recently been cut..I found a really nice piece, has sap all over it , freshly cut last week. It's about 14 in in diameter and 3 ft long log. Should I let it dry as a log or cut it up etc..not sure
It will dry faster if you saw it up.
We don't kiln dry our cedar at the mill. It just air dries. Kiln drying seems to make it more brittle than it is.
However I'm not a call maker. I just sell lumber that we saw and mill.
