Title: Tom teaser sack
Post by: bigbird on March 09, 2016, 09:16:18 PM
Anyone use it or know someone who does? I looked for a review on it but didn't find one. I thought about trying it this year

This will be my 1st year using one. Seems well laid out. Its the perfect size for what I carry. I don't tote much into the woods but I detest having anything in my pockets. Should be just the ticket.

I grabbed one in Cabelas the other day and thought it was perfect at first.  It doesn't have a zipper, and I could see stuff rolling out of it easily when you slide up in front of a tree.  I actually ended up getting a different over the shoulder bag on eBay.  I feel like I'm going to like sitting down and sliding it off my shoulder to sit beside me.  I no longer wear a vest as I realized I don't need all that crap.  Just a few calls and maybe a bottle of water.  Here's what I got:

Yeah I know... it's cheap and might wear out in a few years, but the $40 Tom Teasers was nothing special.

With so much stuff we take into the woods, a vest makes more sense. I sling several other things over my shoulders now, decoy bag, chair, and gun. Having a actual vest just makes it much easier for me.

Can't stand vests. No matter how many I try I hate it.
I have been using a few different shoulder bags through the years.
For the last 10 or so I have been using one made by Penns woods. This one is no longer available but I came across one made by Bossie. Very similar only difference is a waste strap on the Penns woods that I really like. It keeps the bag from swinging. However this is something that you can easily add.

I know all about that Mr. Massey.  You just made it sound like Cabela's had it on sale.

I've been kicking around the idea of getting one as well.  I'm hoping they are in stock the next time I'm in Cabela's to get a better look at.  From the pictures it seems to be well laid out and can handle a variety of items.

I didn't like the one I bought. There wasn't enough structure in the bag to suit me.
