Title: Pursuing after bust
Post by: Gobspur on March 09, 2016, 09:00:22 PM
In your experience is it worth pursuing a bird after you get busted? Or better to move on to find another?  I hunt big hardwoods all rolling hills and hollars, no fields.  Put a few birds in the dirt last year, but also got busted by a couple that were working in.  After they putted and ran off before I could get a shot, I chalked it up and moved on to find another bird.  Should I have repositioned, chased after, pursued to try to get back in the game?  At the time I figured there was no point, but afterwards I got to thinking about whether they would have still played ball if I repositioned and tried a different call.

If there are lots of birds in the area I stay. Do you live in a state that hunting hours end at 1:00 and it's noon and a bird is gobbling on the next ridge then I would  move.
