Title: Sights for Franchi Affinity 20ga
Post by: brimmyfish on March 07, 2016, 07:03:40 PM
What do you guys have on your affinity's. I am looking at the TruGlo Pro Series Magnum Gobble Dot sights, but havent heard much about people using them on this particular gun. Any thoughts?

Thanks

I put a tom knapp champion sight in mine and really liked it.  Put one on my M2 as well

No sights on my Affinity. I just use the bead and it shoots exactly where I point it. I love this gun.
I have a Carlson's .575 and it puts 235 TSS 8.5's in a 10" circle at 40 yards.

I've been running the Tru-glo gobble dots on mine since I bought it.  No complaints so far.

You will need the 6mm version model number TG944C..the Benelli M2 20 gauge takes the same model.

I did see that on their chart but my rib measures just under 7mm.

The Affinity rib measures about .272-.274" IIRC I ordered the TG944C (a 6mm).  These come with nylon inserts for non-marring purposes, you can ditch the inserts & use brass shim stock in their place  or do what I did & carefully cut one side of the insert off with an x-acto knife.  Mine haven't budged so far...  I saw a post somewhere that someone bought the 8mm size & shimmed it down with additional nylon material. That sounded like too much nylon on nylon for me (ie slippage).

Ok I appreciate it. How do the sights connect to the vent rib? Do they clamp on similar to a weaver style scope ring?

They clamp over the rib (but with no milled cross slot holes).  I added a tiny drop of loctite blue on the clamp screws & they haven't budged in two years.

Not sure if you can enlarge the pic, but here is a shot of mine from another thread:

I put the Williams Universal Slugger Fire Sights on my 20 gauge Affinity.  I also have them on my 12 gauge turkey guns.
