Title: Anyone know about this trumpet?
Post by: Rockhound on March 05, 2016, 08:05:05 PM
My dad has had this for years and he gave it to me a few years ago. The only markings are a little rubber piece on the the lipstop. They say BRUCE pgh PA

That's a Turpin style trumpet made by Penn's Woods. I don't think they are made any longer.

Yep I agree it looks like a Turpin from Penns Woods, black walnut, aluminum ferrule and a hard rubber lip stop.

Penns Woods .
Thats what i killed my first 3 turkeys with.
$13.50 was going price when i got mine in @ 1986 ish . Have bought 2 lately for$45 to $75. Big price difference but have seen them approaching $100 on some sights.
They still sound good and will kill birds. Just dont let them start an addiction..LOL
