Hi Guys.
I have been "dabbling" with turkey hunting for a few years now and have taken a few birds. Last year started taking mouth calling more seriously and bought both of Scott Elli's Mouth Call Magic DVDs. While I can do no justice in respect to Scott's calling- I picked up a ton. I just bought a couple of Halloran pot calls (theyre pretty and he live somewhere out here near me) and wanted to up my game in that regard. Are there any pot calling DVDs that come recommended? Ive youtube-d some but not getting a whole lot out of them. Want to learn how to do it right before I practice myself into bad habits.
The next part I am wanted to learn is scouting and hunting the birds. I spend most my time hunting them on the family farm which has lots of native grasses and woods but no ag. My strategy thus far has been to go out a few ams prior to season and listen for roosted birds. I then set up near them with a hen decoy when season opens, make some soft tree yelps a God awful flydown and hope from there. I get the basics but feel like there is so much more to learn. IE- I have no idea why guys swear by jake decoys, or how to find a strut zone or how 2 yo bird is different from an older one or why some bird pair and others don't, tom calls, etc. Any DVD suggestions there either?
Been lurking around here for a bit and picking up some great info...just learn best from watching DVDs.
Thank you for your help

Cody's video is a good one.
This is a great DVD even for the seasoned caller.
The Cody video is excellent.
If you want to learn about the actually "hunting" part of the equation, buy all 4 DVD's from Denny Gulvas.
Tom Kelly has a book called A fork in the road and it is geared toward new comers to the sport. it covers everything from scouting, calling, patterning your gun, likely set ups, you name it, Mr. Kelly talks about it this book. It also comes with a very good DVD that covers everything.
Sadler McGraw has some good stuff on youtube for pot calling techniques. Check it out.
2015 Old Gobbler contest Champions
I concur on the Sadler Mc youtube videos.
Russell Lynch of Bud N Betty's has a good pot calling DVD I gave to someone, but reports posted here indicate that he does not seem to be focused on the business right now.
I appreciate all the help guys.
Headed to youtube now- free is always good
Ironically Gulvas "Pressured Gobblers" caught my eye so Ill grab that one and check out the others suggested
