Title: Which choke?
Post by: Browning4140 on March 02, 2016, 08:14:54 AM
I bought a new 835 with a 24" barrel and will probably be using either Winchester long beard or the supremes. Now it time to figure out which choke to use. Out of the following chokes which one would you recommend?

Indian Creek
Bass Pro Black Out
Hevi 13
Pure Gold
Kicks Gobbling Thunder
Sumtoy

I shoot the 835, with a 24" barrel, with Hevi-7's and a .670 Pure Gold choke.  Only you can make the final decision, but the IC, Pure Gold, SSX, Hevi-13 and Sumtoy are ALL excellent choices with the LB's.  You definitely have a shooter with the 835, now Good Luck with your choice of a choke.

The Gobbling Thunder is probably the best lead choke for the 35's.

I've seen a lot of good patterns on here with the Gobbling Thunder out of the 835's...  I think most of your list would be good choices...

I ordered the BPS black out and am going to try it with the Winchester LBXR # 6 and I also got a kicks gobbling thunder to try also. Scored on the kicks a local sporting goods store was going out of business and I got it for $18.

I shot the kicks choke yesterday with Winchester Longbeard XR 3.5" with #6 shot @40yds and it put 256 pellets I'm a 8.5 x 11" sheet of paper. The choke has a constriction on that kicks is .685, so I am going to say that it is turkey season ready.
