I'm shooting a 1187 26' barrel and 3 1/2 long beard #6. I'm new to these shells was wondering what chokes ppl are shooting with long beards. I have tried them with a rhino 660 and got 247 in the 10 @ 40yds but it's my dad's old choke and he's swapping me for a 670.
With those shells in that gun the Jellyhead .660 or .665 and SSX chokes put up big numbers. In personally went with the SSX last season because it gave a bit more even pattern density with the 5's and the 6's seemed to prefer the JH .660, but all three chokes performed incredible with those shells.

I have not honestly had a Carlson's choke pattern well for me.
I would beat up your dad and keep his choke :-)
