Title: Which is better a tube scope or holographic???
Post by: bigcountry25 on February 26, 2016, 04:23:08 PM
Which is better for turkey hunting a tube scope that is 4X32mm or a holographic red dot?

Trying to decide which to try first.

It's all personal preference. One is no better or worse than the other.

The dot sights seem to be more popular.

I like the reliability of my "tube" Scope, 20 years and going strong!

Just put a Burris FFIII on my Rem 870 12 gauge.  Love it.  Doesn't block any view of what's going out in front of me and dead on out to a tested 40 yards, so far.  Also very small and compact.  Next weekend I'll see what the gun, load, and FFIII will do past 40 yards.

My son had a Bushnell trophy red dot which is a tube style.
He missed 2 birds with that setup....
Went to a FFIII, and he's been 3-3 the last 3 seasons.
I prefer the open dot to the tube style, and my son does as well.
