Title: South Carolina Public Land
Post by: skridge on February 25, 2016, 09:38:06 PM
Me and a buddie are looking to take a trip to South Carolina on a turkey hunt. Does anyone have any suggestions as to any wma or other types of public land to hunt.

Good luck, remember SC public land does not open until April 1 and goes out May 5th. You get three tags.

What he said...really depends on what part of the state you plan on hunting.  It's a small state with not a lot of public land acreage compared to other states. Here in the upstate there are some good places with birds but it can be highly competitive when dealing with other hunters.  The lower part of the state has more land available but is just as competitive.  Go to SCDNR website and check out the WMA maps, good luck on your search...
