Title: Winchester Rooster XR
Post by: Mike Honcho on February 25, 2016, 07:41:24 AM
I see Winchester has a Rooster XR pheasant load out with the shot lok technology like Longbeard XR.
In 2 3/4" and 3".  15 rounds per box. 12 gauge.

Wondering if anyone has tried them?

Might be a choice for the 2 3/4" guys.

Not bad....the 3" loads might work pretty good for a youth.

21" 870  40 yards lazered and taped.
55 degrees / slight wind

2 3/4" Rooster XR 1 1/4 oz. #6 shot 124 in the 10" and 203 in the 15" with Carlson .660

2 3/4" Rooster XR 1 1/4 oz. #6 shot 136 in the 10" and 195 in the 15" with Hevi-tube .662

3" Rooster XR 1 1/2 oz. #5 shot 131 in the 10" with Carlson .660

3" Rooster XR 1 1/2 oz. #5 shot 112 in the 10" with Hevi-tube .662

The 2 3/4" recoil is mild. FYI.
