Did you buy that gun camo or did you have it dipped?
I assume dipped for those above. I don't think they had the youth in camo from factory. Although I have been known to be wrong
I dipped mine myself. I have since sold this 870, but it turned out perfect.

Man all those are sweet! may have to look into getting mine dipped really like that obsession!
Yeah that thing would look sweet in obsession or bottomlands
I have one I am working on now. 870 youth, 21" barrel, Kicklite stock and forearm, McCarbo trigger spring, JEB's .560 choke.
I don't know how to post pics.
Does the trigger spring help? I though the trigger was pretty damn good out the box. Especially compared to the other shotguns I have.
My trigger spring should be here by Monday, supposed to reduce the trigger by 2.5 lbs or so.
Lonster
I went with a patriot and was able to knock right at 3/4 of a pound off.

Had mine dipped in obsession by camo solutions, they did a fantastic job.
I did my trigger job myself.
Took the trigger group out for the dip job, while it was out I cut exactly one coil off the factory spring and polished the sear with jb bore brite and finished it with flitz. Took about 20 min and now I have a no-creep, smooth as glass 3.5 lb trigger.

Wow, you fellows have some nice turkey killers! I have an old Stevens single that im planning on building for my daughter.
Dang that bottomlands dip looks good Leroy. How much did that set you back?
I am painting mine to match my Natgear camo, almost finished just need to install the new trigger spring that should arrive tomorrow so that I can put the trigger assembly back in.

See if this works
Not sure the double post, 870 youth had sumtoy do all the work and choke it. Last year, I do not recommend his work to anyone. I had to switch choke tubes the one in the picture shot dismal. I put a trulock #7 in it at 40yds it goes 160s with fed 3in #7.
Just picked on up yesterday, can't wait to get it set up. It came with a gobble stopper choke. Is it even worth messing with, or do I need to go ahead and get something else? (http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20160229/4d41a05991ec4877030681f7cfc9e6b4.jpg)

I like the looks of those shurshot stocks on those 870 youth models. Looks like a slick little piece!
Finally finished mine last summer by dipping but the gun has already killed 5 birds when it was black :gobble:
I've got a question about The new style long forearms. Will a 12ga fit the 20?

Youth 20 on the right side of the pic. Still working on it, but phoenix kicklite stock (which I think I like), and forend (which I dislike). I bought the newer style forend to match the 12 ga in the picture but I haven't put it on yet. IC .555 in it right now. Williams fire sights are on it now (not in the pic). I haven't shot it yet. If it's too tight, then I'll be experimenting with chokes to get it right. If it all goes as expected, then next year I'd like to add a FF sight, and either dip or cerakote to finish her off. The 20 craze is real! Honestly I kinda like tinkering with turkey guns. It helps me get through late winter :fire:
Got it's first bird of the year last weekend during Florida's Youth Hunt. My daughter absolutely loves it and honestly I am really impressed with it as well.

Cramer that is a nice gun bud! I bet your daughter was beside herself to get her first bird. Everything I'm seeing so far is this 870 youth build will replace my sbe2 lol should have just done this from the get!

Your only regret will be not doing it sooner. I built mine and have since converted my dad and several friends. I've built 8 or 9 so far. Here's my personal gun that I hand painted:

Not sure if directed at me Full, but if so thanks! I shoot the Remington Super Full (not rated for Hevi shot) choke and TSS #9.5's. Gun has killed lots of turkeys. Hoping to complete my slam with it this spring.

Appreciate it. This was the first one I hand painted. I went a little overboard with it. There's really not that much to it other than lots of time. I'm about to paint one for my dad. I'm going to try and do the old tree bark pattern but instead of the yellowish green leaves I'm going to make the turkey tracks the yellowish green. Hopefully it turns out to his liking.
It was directed at you bud. Great looking gun and I'm sure it patterns even better with those tss 9.5

Appreciate it, and scary good. I'll have to dig up the patterns, but it was North of 400 in the 10 at 40 yards. :OGani:
I'm about to start this project!
I just got my gun to start my project with. Really excited for the local stores to stock up on ammo so I can start hittin the patterning board
I'm working on mine as well. Does anyone have a recommendation for a mount to use for the red dot scope? I have a Burris Fast Fire III that will go on it. Have not ordered a choke at this time, but planning on ordering a Sumtoy and shoot Federal HW 7's.
If you plan on putting a saddle mount on it and it's one of the Youth 20 ga,, it takes a different saddle mount than what fits the old Rem 20 ga ..frame...if you want the right saddle mount number just let me know...If it's a Rem your doing ...you didn't say which gun you were building. The one you want is B square Rem. 870 20 ga. express LT shotgun saddle style mount and it comes with scope mounts.. number 1008574 you can buy this off Amazon for 41.99 and it still lets you see your bead...
Thank you, Greg. I'm open to saddle mounts or a rail. The gun is an 870 youth model. The reason I'm asking is that the local gunsmith said that he could not install a red dot in a 20 gauge youth. The gun still needs to be drilled and tapped.
If you want a red dot look at the Bushnell Tr 25 , it's a great red dot for the money and i have one mounted on one of my 5 turkey guns...it runs around 60 - 85 dollars , you will just have to shop around for it...
I already own a ff2 with a warbird protector. My problem is that I have a gun smith that wants too much to drill two little holes in my receiver. I'm just hoping it hits true center so I don't have to worry about optics
You can believe this or not , i mounted the saddle mount i told you about on my 20 ga, and put a Simmons turkey scope on it and bore sighted the scope and it was dead on at the range shooting Federal HW 7
I already have the fastfire III. I'm trying to find a saddle/rail that will fit a youth model. Will any rail for a 20 gauge 870 fit a youth model?

That is sweet! Who dipped it?
Steve Jackson at SJ Solutions in Paron, AR
I'm from central AR but I've never heard him. I like that dip a lot. How much did he charge you?
I can't remember exactly. I think it was $150 or so. Sorry, was last year

It has held up really pretty good. I'm super hard on my turkey guns most years. Some minor wear areas is all

then dipped it all in Obsession.
