Title: calls from nashville
Post by: greentag on February 13, 2016, 07:29:24 PM
just got home from nashville, picked up some good calls while i was there,i got matt mclain english walnut and ivory trumpet,a lonzo clear acrylic slate,a twisted sister and a new slate thats in a wenge laminate pot that david halloran came out with this year thats just nasty, and a brad roberts 2 sided slate in a red cedar pot thats awesome, the same call i think placed in the top four or five in the competition and a new pot brad roberts came out with this year that has an aluminum sound board under glass, and while he had it in a couple types of wood i got one with the nicest figured bocote i had seen, this call sounds awesome too, along with a bunch of strikers from stuckey and a few of my favorite red and black wasp mouth calls from woodhaven.ill try to see if gobble&grunt will post a picture of them for me later on.this will probably do it for my call addiction for awhile till i get a little extra money burning a hole again.

Thats awesome. I ordered the new wenge laminate slate myself about 10 days ago, I have to wait for him to get back home and ship it out. Painful wait.

Dying to get my hands on Halloran's new wenge slate pot.  I heard it in the video he posted and wanted it immediately. As soon as there on his website I will be ordering one.

I sent him a message through facebook and placed a order. Well... I ordered his other laminate, then inquired about his new one and he said he would send me that one instead for $10 more.... Yes please.

that new halloran call is sweet, ive been sitting here running it and i love it,it comes with one of his one piece turned bloodwood strikers, its def worth getting one.he was selling the fire out of them,he kept having to get under his booth and get them,i ran several of them and they all sounded amazing,he told me on his regular slate call thats cheaper they will be variances because he just glues them up,but these he mikes and gets everyone of them dead on to whatever specs he has.i watched some of the calling competeition, they were one of the callers sitting behind me warming up,and this guy sounded amazing,i turned around to see what pot he was running and he was using one of them,i dont know if he used it in the contest but he sure was burning it up sitting in the crowd before it started.

I've had my eye on his new slate ever since I saw the picture on facebook. Its a sweet lookin and sounding call from what I've seen Now after hearing the reviews from u guys I will definitely have to get myself one. All of his pots are turkey killers and IMO he's one of the best in the business.
