Title: new owner of an affinity 20
Post by: darron on February 11, 2016, 06:48:54 PM
I couldn't take it anymore...my local store had a franchi affinity in bottomland so I had to get it. After researching this firearm for several months I have read nothing but great reviews. I was going to get the M2, but I could not justify spending 1400 on one just to use turkey hunting and maybe a dove hunt or two. After reading the affinity is darn near the m2 minus the recoil spring being in the front.

I have an 1187 20, but the affinity feels sooo much better. Next is a carlson 575 and to the range with hevi 7 and fed 7 to see which one wins.

Please update us on POA VS POI.  I just bought the same exact gun and mines not right. Hope you have better luck. Really pisses me off that a $800 gun doesn't hit where you aim. Got a couple more chokes on the way to see if it helps.

Great fun man! I had one and sold t for an M2 and still have regrets about it. Very little difference between the 2 for sure! Get a Carlsons 575 and some heavyweights 7 and your ready!!

This was the one I had if you had any plans on customizing it

I did the same thing last year, was looking hard at a new M2 & the local Scheels had a used Affinity compact in for less than 1/2 the price of the M2... I couldn't say no either.

Damn well I'll let you know as soon as it warms up a bit. I'll shoot a dove load or two up close to see how it hits. Hoping I don't have any issues. I know my 1187 shoots a tad low. My aiming point is turkeys eye to center up the neck. Not a huge deal but I know what u mean

Has anyone tried the Trulock Heavyweight 7 choke with that load in this gun??  Just curious how the pattern compares with the Carlson's .575?

I tried it from mine and it wasn't bad. A bit more open then the Carlson was but it was a huntable pattern

I love hearing the positive comments about the affinity. I picked up a M2 yesterday at a local gun store to see how it feels and it was hard to walk away from the great feel when I shouldered it. I am hoping that the affinity feels just as good. Plan on getting one in the next couple of weeks. Probably try the trulock or carlson with Fed HW #7 and see what happens.
