Title: North West Nebraska
Post by: MississippiDawg on February 08, 2016, 01:10:29 PM
Hi all. New to the forum. Glad to have finally found a turkey hunting forum.

My grandfather and I are planning a trip to Northwest Nebraska for a public land turkey hunt. We will be hunting the week of May 8th through 14th. In your experience is that usually a good time to go?

We are mainly looking for a Merriam.

There appears to be a very large national forest south of Chadron Nebraska so we were thinking about starting out there.

This is our first trip in which we will be hunting such a large area of public land. Do you have any advice as to how to narrow down to certain areas of public land using google earth? I am assuming to look for water and trees but am not exactly positive.

Any advice is appreciated.
