I have had some great results with several different mouth call makers... I really like Woodhaven but they seem to have been hit and miss on their glue lately (Last year). Having said that, even though many of their mouth calls require a pretty healthy set of lungs to get the reeds to move, they are all mostly pure turkey.
I got a real great call last year and I can't remember the manufacturer (which often happens).
Who is your favorite and what model do you like best?
I will say Woodhaven Toxic Orange (Ghost)
I wish I had back all the money I've spent on mouth calls over the years. I'm sure I could buy the shotgun of my choice. I guess I'm just a sucker for trying any call to see how it sounds. Bit year after year I always come back to my ole stand by, the Raspy III from Mountain HollowGame Calls.
I used mouth calls almost exclusively as a kid, I still run all sorts but last year I tried Hooks, great calls n the easiest I ever ran. They run small, if you want full size tape you gotta write that in order
Woodhaven's are my favorite... Especially the Red Wasp
I'm a fan of Legacy. My favorites are the Leading Lady & the Fatal Attraction.
Ran a Woodhaven copperhead for years until they got too proud of their calls and jacked the price up.
Now i run gooserbats and I really like the hillbilly and bacon.
My favorite mouth calls come from gobblers choice (Martin Bros.)

This is a bit off of the subject but it is an important point for the new guys. This is for the new mouth call users here that are most surely totally confused by all of the different recommendations:
Forget the brand. It is the call itself that is important. If you are just starting to use mouth calls, find some cheap ones with different reed cuts. Buy a few and try them out until you find what works best for you. Don't waste your money on buying expensive mouth calls thinking that they will be easier to use,...or better. Buy cheap calls,...learn how to call first.
woodhaven and bangin redhedz
I have had great success in the past few years with the Executioner 2 from Hooks calls. Consistently high quality, great sound and reasonably priced. :icon_thumright:

X2 Hooks / Executioner II
I keep coming back to the Primos True Double. :icon_thumright:
It just fits me better and runs more consistently than any other....IMHO!
Favorite 2 so far legacy triple bypass and K&H preacher. Probably pick up some hooks at convention this weekend.
cane creek cane cutter. Only call I have tried that I can sound decent with.
Denny Gulvas calls
Woodhaven hornet and copperhead. Hooks executioner.
Legacy has been my choice for probably 10 years now. The Hack Saw and Fatal Attraction are both great quality....easy to blow and have the good roll over to rasp on the back end. It boils down to whatever brand or call fits each individual the best. I've tried several other brands, but always go back to Legacy.
David Holloran natural born killer mouth call is my favorite. Tape is a little wide I cut it down to the size of a Hooks mouth call. It sound great this will be the 3rd year and still sounds brand new.
My favorites are Tom Teaser's the Teaser Pleaser and Cracked Corn calls.
Jim
Steve Kinder and Del Crow

A modified Hooks Executioner II is my current favorite. I like the Houndstooth Dixie Combo and Legacy Lone Hen 3 as well.
Hooks game changer 3 and Devestator. reasonably priced and fit perfectly without cutting.
Just got 3 Woodhaven Toxic orange in mail yesterday...trimmed one to fit me better...practiced for couple hours in my office that, thankfully, I occupy alone...lol.. recorded myself on my phone.....gotta slow my cadence, but was pleased with the results...gotta a great kee kee and drops to a rasp that is easy to reach volume or attain quiet yelps... my favorite so far and have tried many..
Woodhaven Copperhead
Legacy Lone Hen 3 and Prized Posession.

I was wondering if I was the only one...I cant run a mouth call good at all but I can sound decent on one of these...prolly because it only has one reed in both frames..
Cramer's, gooserbat and David halloran all make very good calls! Couldn't pick one over the other, I like them all! Never found a hooks that fit me properly or a woodhaven that I liked!
Dead End Game Calls! Quality made with some of the best latex to be found!! They are priced reasonable and are very easy to run!! I will never put down any other company on the market!! I'm on staff for DEGC and if you'd like to try some, go to their website and order and put in kcurrin at checkout, and receive a 5% discount on me!! God Bless and safe hunting!!!
Cane creek. The cutter or mr death. Both great calls and mr death is one of the easiest 4 reed calls I've ever tried. Very raspy too
Knight & Hale's Magic Moon Cutter my all time favorite. :z-twocents:
Woodhaven Copper head my all time favorite
Quaker Boy Old Boss Hen for sure :OGani:
Hooks Executioner 2 is my favorite, Woodhaven Red Wasp is my 2nd.
Usually the Hooks will do it all.

Just purchased the NEW Woodhaven Black Death pack. Love them so far! We will see if they bring in a gobbler this spring though! That's the real test
