Title: Hevi metal?
Post by: wmn2 on February 07, 2016, 05:00:09 PM
I have a carlton's longboard .665 choke. Am I able to shoot the heavy shot heavy metal 4&6 through this or no?

Here's an evaluation of that load that did a while back http://allaboutshooting.com/blogs/blog/98758919-hevi-metal-turkey

Reading the "Instructions For Use" on the back of the Carlson's packaging for the Long Beard XR turkey choke, it says in part "...Do not use any slugs or steel shot through this turkey choke."

I hope that helps.

Thanks,
Clark

Thanks for the article, I knew you'd probably be one of the first to reply. I thought I remembered reading that on the back of the package, but I couldn't remember. Thank you
