Title: Federal turkey loads?
Post by: NYlogbeards on February 07, 2016, 08:09:06 AM
Has anyone shot the Federal copper lead turkey load with the flight control wads?
i was looking around for different turkey shells and seen the Federal turkey loads  have good reviews on them.

Yes! Two of us have killed several with them out of our 20 gauge set up. They perform great out to 30-35yds for me. The hvw #7 is the best load I have found but the best lead load by far for me has been the federal that you are talking about. The two of us got 5 birds with those last year! Great shell in my opinion.

I have also had great patterning results with this load.  Ive never killed a bird with my 20 yet.  Seems like everytime I kill a bird I chose to take the 12 that day.

I have also had really great results with the Remington Premier #6.  The Remington and Federal loads shot equal on the pellet count and I wouldn't be afraid to hunt with either of them from my gun.
