We've had a good start for sure, and atleast half the team isn't in the woods yet, lets keep pushing on guys
IL 1st season cranks up Monday, I get to start up next weekend and have permits to carry me into late April. Congratulations to those that have already had a successful season.
Way to go guys!! I know alot of us have still yet to see opening day, so I like our chances so far. Maryland doesn't open until April 18th. Which is coming quick!! I haven't had the chance to get out to scout yet, but hopefully I'll get to before the opener. If not, I know the woods I hunt extremely well and hopefully won't have a problem getting on some birds. Good luck to those heading out this weekend.
Congratulations to all you turkey killers. I've been out 3 times seeing and hearing a few gobblers but they just do not want to ride home with me. I will be hunting again this weekend. looks like the weather may be better, warmer but windy.
Good luck, boys!
Just keep after'em! It'll happen! :icon_thumright: :icon_thumright:

We've got our youth and learn to hunt, hunts this weekend, and boy I can't wait to get into the woods and make a few gobblers scream. Then I have to wait until the 27th to get out again.
Good luck Captain, Put those new calls to work. Scoot

I can't get out with Harrison till the 30th, and I'm taking a father/daughter team out for the second day of NH's youth hunt on May 1st.
Hopefully, we can put some birds in the dirt...........
Dang!! You boys are layen down some bigguns :icon_thumright:
Guys it looks like we've got a pretty good average score going here and if we can hit our 10 birds we should have respectable finish.
This could get interesting

Very interesting, once these northern seasons open up hopefully we can put a couple heavy weights on the scales. Here in town at the registation station the average bird last year went just over 23 lbs.
Birds down here run in the 19 to 20 pound range.
I realize this thing has a long ways to go but I noticed one of the other teams with expectations was ahead on bird counts and averaging around 61 points per bird which is great........... but I believe we are averaging 64-65 pts per bird with 5 to go.
Just lets you know anything could happen here
If you boys in the north can hit on some heavyweights so much the better.
I'm hoping to hit on 5 more birds and hope one of em at least will go beyond the entry I have in
We've got a formiddable team here
Your right Bobby, we are sittin at 65.325 per bird, not bad boys. If we can keep this string going, we're gonna make them work to beat us?
Roll on WidowMakers :anim_25:.
Just spent the day scouting and shooting, 2 of my favorite things to do!
I saw 2 nice strutters on land we hunt, and I got permission to hunt a farm that is loaded with birds!
Come on May 3rd!

Go get um Mike. :fud:
391.4375 with 6 birds. :begging: :happy0064:
We are doing great boys. Our average bird is 64.8304 per bird.
SGA has their 10 birds with a score of 610.4880.
We have 7 birds with a score of 453.8125.
That leaves us 156.6755 behind with 3 birds to go. Our 3 birds need to average 52.2251 per bird to tie.
We still have a bunch of guys waiting to get out into the woods, so we have a good shot at this, it could and should be a WidowMakers Year. Lets keep this train rolling boys, what y'all think can we do this?
3 - 52's shouldn't be hard to do. We can get this done. :z-guntootsmiley:
I have faith in yall northern boys!!! :anim_25:
You guys are going to have to kill only turkeys that score over 52 points. ;D
3 good jakes ought to do it. :TooFunny:
I can't wait to get out and try and help team. My season starts next week, but I have three different weeks to score. Scoot
Alright guys we are looking good, we have our ten birds that we can use if no one else fills a tag, but that ain't going to happen :) we still don't have everybody in the woods yet. We have 7 members with birds and 3 fill ins.
Our Ten Bird total is 660.0625. SGA is checked in at 641.4800 as of 4/24.
If we can keep this train rolling we have a good shot at this, so lets get nasty and put a hurtin on the rest. Work together as a team and we can do this. If you having problems post um we can all advise and may help you out. WE ARE TEAM WIDOWMAKERS!!!!!!!
GO WIDOWMAKERS
I like that 72! we are looking good!
Its along ways from over but this has become very interesting guys!
Since the midwestern and northern seasons goes on for a while I'm sure scores will rise but so may ours.
I've killed 3 more birds beyond whats showing up in the scores but they are not good enough to help us out.
Good luck to all of us on killing some more high scorers...success here is a real possibilty
Our 10 bird total as of 4/30/11 is...681.2526...
Congrats guys, we are doing great. We have 8 members with kills and 2 sub-birds added.
Also guys if you are done hunting let us know please so I can keep our score card up to date.
Congrats on another good bird Bill. :happy0064:
Things are starting to get interesting boys, it is going to be a shoot out for the top place.
WidowMakers--681.2526
Voo Doo--673.9225
SGA --658.0150
looking good yall Now all we need is one or two more toads and we will be set!!
(Just so you know I'm finished for the year)
We're making a good showing for sure...lots of impressive and timely kills ...I've been killing a bunch of low scorers for the most part
I should have had another one to add to the pile Saturday but I've turned into a compltete idiot when it comes to shooting...missed a good scoring bird at 11 steps...I think I'm gonna incorporate close in body shots as a practice....long story and when I'm not so depressed about it I'll tell more
But back to point...don't know where this contest will end up but I'm pretty sure this team has gotten everyone
s attention...
Bobby

You guys are killing some fine birds. I have been trying to track everyones score and have you guys at 542.8875 with 8 people's birds. Am I missing the other two? Keep up the good work!
With the new rule of allowing a hunter to score two birds, we have 8 guys with birds and two bonus birds added for our best ten birds. Our score may go up or down some depending on what the guys shoot that haven't scored a bird yet?
Rules didn't change. One bird per person is my understanding. Either way, you guys are putting down some great birds! :you_rock:
We could use some clarification on this, because I remember reading about replacement birds, but now I cant find anything on it. I thought it was decided that the best 10 birds killed by 10 different members had to be used, if less than 10 members killed a bird, you could use a substitute bird allowing some members to enter 2.

Rules are under the teams section.
That was my understanding also Clint, at least that is what the rules said at the beginning. A team can score 10 gobblers, each members best bird and a second bird could be scored if a member blanked. 2 bird max per member. Since the crash the rules have been rewritten and now it says 1 bird max per member?
I sent Shannon a PM to get this cleared up?
Alright boys I got the word from Shannon, that you can only score 1 bird per member period, your best bird. If we only shoot 8 birds that's what we score 8 birds, NO Substatutes.
Thanks doublegobble I was not aware that it changed from when we first started?
So guys we have 8 birds scored and we need 2 more good birds.
lets go yall all we need is 2 good ones!
Alrighty guys, we are sitting in 6-7 place with 9 birds.
First place has 688.5525.
We have 596.2000 which means we need 92.3525 to tie. If we can get our 10 birds and maybe an upgrade, we can catch them. Every point counts, so it's time to shake our bag of tricks and roll another good bird. Lets get nasty boys. :angry9: :anim_25:
Congratulations Bob, on a great bird, where did you get him?
Thanks
I killed it in Vidalia Ga
Being the last day I would have been happy with any mature bird....as it turns out it was a bird I missed three weeks ago
I was very lucky
