Title: Red Dot
Post by: VaBoy on January 28, 2016, 04:00:03 PM
Looking to put a red dot on a 11-87 20 gauge . Seen lots of comments on Fastfire III and have looked seriously at them but have seen little to nothing on the Burris First Strike. Seems very similar but $ 100 cheaper. Anyone got any input or experience with these sites.

The fastfire is superior.

If you want to keep it under $100 I strongly recommend hopping on EBAY and grabbing a Bushnell TRS-25. They are absolutely fantastic for the price point. I got mine for about $75 shipped.

I have used a Bushnell red dot on my 835 for the past 8 or 9 seasons.
Has never let me down.

Let me ask you red dot picatinny rail guys a question. Have a gun Burris doesn't make the low mount for so gonna have to do the rail, but how high is everything than? I wanna make sure you're  able to cheek the gun n still see properly. Suspecting it's gotta be high

This is what I put on my 835 8 years ago to correct a POI/POA issue https://www.natchezss.com/bushnell-trophy-6-moa-30mm-red-dot-sight-with-weaver-rings.html
I only shoot 3 1/2" shells, it has been on airplanes and in the back of my pickup to South Dakota, Wisconsin, Kansas, Florida and locally without any problems.

The red dot on my T/C Encore sat too high on the rail mount... I used one of these. Worked great!

Thanks Stickbow, looks like it would work. Does it move though when you shoot?

Your welcome.

No, it cinches down pretty solid...although I did place a small strip of double-sided tape on the top edge of the stock to be "double sure". (not NECESSARY, just my choice)  :icon_thumright:

Good shooting,
Ron
