Hello, I am interested in the new Triple Beard ammo. Since the speedball tech. is supposed to reduce the lead shot from deforming, could this make #7 lead shot more effective?

First of all, welcome to OG. We're glad you're here and look forward to hearing more from you.
You've posed a very good question. As I understand it, the purpose of the Speed Ball is to allow a higher velocity without either increasing chamber pressures excessively or deforming the shot upon setback. A higher terminal velocity should mean more energy at the target and less deformation of the lead shot should mean fewer fliers and better patterns. To answer your question, that should mean that #7 shot would be more effective.
As is the case with all things shooting however, only range time will tell the story.
Thanks,
Clark
I'd say yes also but lead is lead. Wouldn't stretch the distance too far.
Perfectly round, CP lead shot will still penetrate over 1.25" of ballistic gelatin @ 40 yds, 7.5s to 38 yds. Don't know what shot size they will really use. Some companies say 7 when they are really using 7.5s, which are much more readily available.
