Title: USPS Flat Rate Shipping Cost
Post by: Sadler McGraw on January 19, 2016, 03:11:07 PM
Not sure if any one else went to the Post Office today to make a shipment, but if you did not, be prepared to pay $6.80 for a standard flat rate box now.  It was $5.95!  I didn't check on the larger size boxes, as the 5.95 is the most popular size for sending calls.

14% increase!!!!

They don't even give the business/online discount anymore.  Went from $5.25 to $6.80 for me.

I got the same surprise,  could not mail on Monday due to MLK day.  Yesterday went to overnight some business paperwork to AZ and was surprised it went from $19.95 to $22.95 for the one day overnight mailer.  Yeah that's about the same percentage rate hike.  Can't blame the fuel prices for this one.

I mailed a box call last week it was $13. Today I mailed a small box and 3 individual strikers $26. I was shocked.

Sent a package from Dover, Pa. to Pittsford, NY.

Flat rate small box, Priority mail 2-3 days.....Insured for 100.00

21 days later, it arrived...... ::)

The postal service explaination......Isolated incident....No money back, either....

Two weeks later, sent another package to the same address, from the same post office....

Flat rate small box Priority mail 2-3 days

38 days......LOST PACKAGE......Went to Tn., then Va., then to Pa. and finally to NY...

Same excuse, no money back, and VERY poor customer service along the way in both incident's...Called the Post Master General's office to file a complaint......Still haven't heard from them x 3 months...

The postal service seems to be unaccountable for anything, they do or don't do.....

Using Big Brown from that point forward.....UPS!!!

       14% rate hike....... :o

I know there are issues with every shipper.

But I just Big Browned about 35 pounds of purple heart and mahogany to a fellow today for just a whisker under $26.00.

The tracking is next to flawless and it'll be delivered 100+ miles away by basic ground service by the end of the day tomorrow.

I've had problems latley with USPS as well. Calls getting lost or taking weeks to show up. Some packages even torn open and merchandise missing.
And no, no reimbursment. Can't even get a reply.

Start a intercontinental courier type service. Maybe call it OGscrew you. You can charge the reg rate for calls n a few cents less for others. You'll prob make money. Obama is bringing in lots of cheap labor so to payroll it can't be much. Just need a few planes. Maybe someone could donate a few
