Title: Trumpet calls
Post by: jwright8 on January 13, 2016, 06:16:20 PM
I hear a lot of thing about how good trumpets are. I am always up for new things. I would consider myself distinguished with a pot and mouth call. My question would be how hard are they to learn to use, and it sound good? I know a lot of practice will be needed, but how much?

Thanks!

If you have an ear for calling, which I imagine you do if you are distinguished on other calls, it's not hard at all.  You'll be able to make sounds right away, and with a few weeks of practice you should be able to sound like a hen. Very versatile call which can make a ton of vocalizations, can get soft or VERY loud.  Just seems to echo through the woods on loud yelps and sounds very natural when used softly. One of my favorite calls!

Hard to learn but well worth the effort once you master it its the only call you need

Spend money on a good call and the learning call is a lot better.
