Title: January Turkey Hunt - Kansas or Nebraska
Post by: bowmaster5687 on January 12, 2016, 02:04:26 AM
Will be in Colorado in late January.  In route home to Pennsylvania I will be traveling through either southern Nebraska or Kansas depending on the route. I know both states offer a fall season til Jan 31. Looks like public land is not plentiful and was wondering if anyone could point me in a general direction or give some recommendations where accessing private land won't be a complete struggle with reasonable numbers of birds. Feel free to PM

I can't help you, but want to wish you luck. I can only dream about turkey hunting in January. Hope it works out for you.

I hunted in both states in January and have had better luck in Kansas on public land. Get the KS fall atlas and start there. If you want to try for 4 bird limit the only zone now is in the north central KS I think. Check the KS web site. My buddy shot 3 with 1 shot on one of our trips out there in Jan. We had a blast. Good luck
