Saw a group of about 12 birds on my way home from Martinsburg. Three longbeards in the bunch......I can't take much more of this. :begging: :begging:
Only 4 more weeks my friend. You are just going to have to save up and hunt in VA or somewhere else to pass the time. That is what I am trying to do.
I just hope that the cold weather stays here until the season opens. Maybe it'll keep the gobblers settled down until the season starts unlike years past when they are about done on opening day.

That's exactly what I'm doing! I went scouting in VA last weekend.

It cost a fortune to hunt in Virginia and there are no birds!! :goofball:
Plus you have to wait until the end of May. :anim_25:
Much better to try Tennessee or Kentucky. :z-guntootsmiley:
I know up here in the mtns they are pretty tight lipped right now.Thats a good thing i don't want to hear one until opening morning.
Any of yall close to Fayetteville or Green Briar county?
Not alot of activity here in southern WV. Buying my Kentucky license this week. Seeing alot of bird in eastern KY and hearing a few. KY youth season this Saturday and Sunday. Good luck to everyone! Sonny

I'm about 40 min. from Fayetteville and 5 min from Greenbrier county a little town called Richwood. As far as hunting Va you can buy 3 day license for alittle over $100.00 that's my plan for this year.

Oops, I hunted in VA the last two years and only bought the non resident hunting license for $86 I didn't know you had to buy an extra tag for bear, deer, turkey. I even checked my turkey in last year and nothing was said. Is this right?

The way I understand it you have to have both.
Unless the plans change, I should be there to help you guys open it up. :)

Yes.. you have to purchase a Big Game Tag in Va to kill Turkey.. I am not sure how you checked that bird in.. because the phone in system ask you for you Big Game License Number.. my resident license cost me close to $90 by the time I buy Big Game, Muzzleloader, Archery, and Crossbow .. you were lucky..
