Title: New Benelli question
Post by: SwampSniper on November 26, 2015, 09:31:01 AM
I just bought a Benelli SBE 2 and the performance shooting summary indicated that it was sighted in with Federal Heavy Weight shells 3 1/2 with 1 7/8 oz #7 shot. I have always used 5 shot for turkeys and never thought of #7's. Does anyone use #7 and how effective is that shot size for taking a turkey?

Fed, HW#7 is an awesome load for turkeys, this stuff is not your normal lead it's "Heavy weight" means it's 15gcc , it is equal to #4 lead . if your gun patterns then well then I would definitely use them. dont pass out tho when you go to buy them it's not cheap stuff but well worth the money.

Now what choke are you using in your SBE2 with those shells? I have a SBE2 also and would like to shoot those FED HW shells.

The one that it came with is marked as Rob Roberts 655.

Thanks for the info and I will try not to pass out when I buy some of the shells.
