I receive a text this morning from a friend of mine that says " Wanna go chase rios April 8-10?" My response was "Of course!"
His dad owns some land around Brady TX. I think they have like 3000 acres and it's high fenced for deer. There will be 4 people going and I have more experience than all of them combined so I am guessing I will be more of a guide/caller... but I may just have to make a few calls when they get to 40-50 that makes them become alert.
My excuse will be- "They busted us and were leaving, so I HAD to take the shot, knowing my gun is capable of killing them 20+ yards past their setups" - I am only doing this for the betterment of the team, of course.
I'm just a little excited.
Good luck on your hunt!! :you_rock: :wav:Have fun!
A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do! Especially for the team.
Just kidding. Sounds like fun. Best of luck with all the questions and the do's and dont's. Hope you all kill birds.
Good Luck Dusty! :you_rock: :you_rock: :you_rock:
Sounds like a winner...hope it's full of birds. :you_rock:
I'm headed to Texas this Saturday...flopping should start Sunday.
You've been on a serious roll so I'm already looking forward to the pics. :you_rock: :you_rock:
Good luck and have fun, keep us posted.

It pains me to say we got SKUNKED. I had plenty of jakes in range but the 100 degree weather and serious drought + no gobbling at all made it tough.
The guys I went with spooked plenty of longbeards and even missed a couple. I never saw the 1st longbeard and didn't have a single bird respond to a call. Spent 2.5 days out there and heard 5 total gobbles. Looks like I may be down and out. Can't complain about 3 birds, just wish there were some in my state to actually hunt.
Dang, that's tough... We saw a ton of jakes in Texas too. Should be good next year.
