This is no lie, these two hen boxes have been sitting since at least early 2011. I made them up after I made my first in Oct. 2010. I ran into some tuning issues with this design and decided to change things in the box and set these two aside till today. I also found some lids ready to go so it was time to tune. The calls are Poplar/ Burmese blackwood and Teak/ Burmese Blackwood with cedar/ sycamore chalk boxes. Still need to finish the lids then their ready to go. Thanx for the look. Those are sweet Bill, great looking calls.
A couple of beauties Bill. :icon_thumright:
Those look amazing!!! Love the wood combo. Very nice work. I acknowledge the fact that you were so cautious in having the proper time, material, and tuning involved. A satisfactory job indeed. Well done sir.
Great looking hen boxes!
Nice boxes Bill. :icon_thumright:
Thanx guys. As you can see I really don't make many of these and for these two the tuning issue was in my head not in the design. Though I do hate all the clean up around the turned handle when finishing these they do make a great hunting call.
Nice job on those calls Bill!!
Nice looking calls Bill!
I'm not the best with this sound file thing and would be happier doing this outside but here goes. https://soundcloud.com/callmakerman/teak-poplar-hen-boxesaudio
