I recently bought two copper calls from two differnt people. i was looking for a striker to really make them sound unbelievable. Fellows if you don't have a marble wood striker for your copper, I suggest trying one. It will grab another gear!!!
Where'd you get your marble wood striker?
eBay. In a set of three. It makes both of mine crazy good.
Never tried marble wood but I really like osage orange on my Yingling copper. Dymondwood is a close second.
I got a carbon one with my Yingling. Sounds great with it. My other pot is the one I was wanting to wake up. Just happened to sound good with both.
I have a carbon and bloodwood with my Yingling. They both sound good but always willing to try what others recommend. I built a solid aluminum striker that will pull unbelievable rasp out of my glass and copper calls.
Cedar is my favorite I've tried on my copper pot...the only striker I've found to be consistent and user friendly...and will make some killer purrs...
