Still has it.
I worked security at a smallish gig he did locally this weekend. Man he can sing!
One of the best concerts I've ever seen.
I got to meet him for a minute after the concert. He sure is a good entertainer, funny and a true gift of a voice. And MAN he can play a guitar!
I agree, IMO he has the best male voice in country music. He sings almost effortlessly. The only other country singer I can think of that could sing like that was the late Jim Reeves.
Never liked his singing. something about his voice bothers me.
He is definitely an insanely good guitar player.
Vince Gill is an awesome talent for sure. As for the best voice in country music, I vote the late great Keith Whitley.
You wanna' see one of his most touching performances, google "Youtube" and "Vince Gill Go rest high." It's a performance he and Patty Lovelace did at George Jones funeral. The song was written by Vince. It's about his brothers' death...If that doesn't bring a tear, your heart's a stone!
Thats awesome man. I run the commands MRW program and work closely with the MWR organization on base. We have setup Trace Adkins to do a concert on base in October. I get to hang out with him and have a couple beers, they better come through on that because I have my mind set on it happening.
My wife works the hotel here on base, and his people called and made the reservations already so he will be here.

He did that song just him and his guitar on stage. It was great. He told the story of his brother's injury and struggles first and it made the song mean even more.
He also told the story of how he came to write the song "It's hard to kiss the lips at night, that chew your all night long". (His Dad gave him the title and made him promise to write a song about it.)
He tells how he and Rodney Crowell wrote it one night. He came home and his wife, Christian singer Amy Grant, asked him to sing it to her. His telling of that story was hilarious.
we saw him last year. He was with the time jumpers. Quite a show.
He can sing--plus I believe him to be a genuinely "good fellow"
always have liked his singing
