Title: Anyone ever modify a Remington sure shot stock?
Post by: Borden811 on June 04, 2015, 09:15:00 PM
Any of you guys ever a cut out the piece that runs along the bottom of the sure shot stocks? In essence making it less "thumb hole " looking, and more "pistol grip" looking? Do you think doing so would make the stock too weak, and it may break at the wrist from recoil? I may snag a gun with one of the sure shot stocks, but I hate the look of that piece across the bottom, however I like the high comb a lot. It would be perfect if I could Dremel out that piece, blend in the cut lines to the rest of the stock, and paint it. Thoughts?

well not the best looking stock for sure.  But is very functional.  Before you cut you might take a good hike with it. Steadies your hold while sling carrying and makes a nice handle for over the shoulder, just a thought. :z-twocents:
