Title: sumtoy choke question
Post by: Spitten and drummen on May 20, 2015, 03:14:09 PM
I got a sumtoy 562-5 choke for my benelli 20ga. looked it over good. the choke has 6 grooves cut in it. I thought the 5 meant it would have 5 grooves cut in it. just was wondering. correct me if im wrong about the groove count. I haven't really spent a lot of time pattering it. is the groove count right and wondering if it is not , how it may influence my patterns. thanks

The 5 stands for the five concentric wad stripper ridges, not the lateral grooves.  You should be able the see the ridges if you look.

Mine has 6 grooves and 5 rings, it will influence your patterns by making them awesome.
